Ayat on the Adequacy of the Qur'an (and the Doubtfulness of Ahadith)

"And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing."

Qur'an 25:30

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion."

Qur'an 5:3

"These are the communications of Allah which We recite to you with truth; then in what hadith would they believe after Allah and His communications?"

Qur'an 45:6

"Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it."

Qur'an 75-17-19

"Shall I then seek a judge other than Allah? And He it is Who has revealed to you the Book (which is) made plain; and those whom We have given the Book know that it is revealed by your Lord with truth, therefore you should not be of the disputers."

Qur'an 6:114

"What has happened to you? How do you judge? Or have you a book wherein you read, that you have surely therein what you choose?"

Qur'an 68:36-7

"And follow the BEST that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive..."

Qur'an 39:55

"Allah has revealed the BEST announcement, a book conformable in its various parts, repeating, whereat do shudder the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and their hearts become pliant to the remembrance of Allah; this is Allah's guidance, He guides with it whom He pleases; and (as for) him whom Allah makes err, there is no guide for him."

Qur'an 39:23

"(Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah."

Qur'an 33:62

"It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings, We would certainly have seized him by the right hand..."

Qur'an 69:43-37

"Then, it may be that you will give up part of what is revealed to you and your breast will become straitened by it because they say: Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him or an angel come with him? You are only a warner; and Allah is custodian over all things."

Qur'an 11:12

"Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder."

Qur'an 88:21

"I swear by the star when it goes down. Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; nor does he speak out of desire. It is naught but revelation that is revealed..."

Qur'an 53:1-4*

(*Concerning the meaning of these verses, if they implied that Muhammad (SAW) was perfect in every respect (i.e. he did not err beyond his recitation of the Qur'an), then we may offer this verse to suggest otherwise:

"O Prophet! why do you forbid that which Allah has made lawful for you; you seek to please your wives; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

Qur'an 66:1)

"And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it..."

Qur'an 42:7

"But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to Allah and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and Allah sees the servants."

Qur'an 3:20

"And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah or (he who) gives the lie to His communications; surely the unjust will not be successful."

Qur’an 6:21

"O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you have done."

Qur’an 49:6

"And follow not that of which you have not the knowledge; surely the hearing and the sight and the heart, all of these, shall be questioned about that."

Qur’an 17:36

"And if you obey most of those in the earth, they will lead you astray from Allah's way; they follow but conjecture and they only lie."

Qur’an 6:116

"Now, surely, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah's; and they do not (really) follow any associates, who call on others besides Allah; they do not follow (anything) but conjectures, and they only lie."

Qur’an 10:66

"Those who listen to the word, then follow the BEST of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding."

Qur’an 39:18

"The Beneficent Allah taught the Quran. He created man, and taught him logic (and intelligence)."

Qur’an 55:4

"Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian."

Qur’an 15:9

"And they shall not bring to you any argument, but We have brought to you (one) with truth and BEST in significance."

Qur’an 25:33

"Is it not enough for them that We have revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Most surely there is mercy in this and a reminder for a people who believe."

Qur’an 29:51

"He (Moses) said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). He (Pharaoh) said: Then what is the state of the former generations? He (Moses) said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget."

Qur’an 20:50-52

Muhammad (SAW) was instructed to follow the religion of Abraham (22:78). We are instructed to follow Muhammad (SAW) (3:31) and hence we must follow the religion of Abraham.

What is the only 100% authentic Sunnah of the religion of Abraham? The Qur’an. There is no deeper obligation and guide than this, and saying otherwise has had countless visible implications.

"And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you hardship in religion, the faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Messenger may be a bearer of WITNESS to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people; therefore keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast by Allah; He is your Guardian; how excellent the Guardian and how excellent the Helper!"

Qur’an 22:78

“A Pakistani court decision made by the judge Justice Muhammad Shafi subordinated the hadith compared to The Quran. He stated that “When The Quran demands obedience to the Prophet all it means is that one should be honest, steadfast, earnest, religious and pious as he was. And not that we should think and act as exactly as he did, because this is unnatural and humanly impossible and if we attempted to do that, life will become absolutely difficult.””
